Energy Storage Association signs MoU with HIES to boost consumer confidence and industry standards

The Energy Storage Association (ESA) is pleased to announce the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the HIES Consumer Code, an important new partnership aimed at strengthening awareness, quality, and consumer protection across the fast-growing energy storage sector.

Under the agreement, the ESA and HIES will work together to:

  • Raise awareness of the benefits of energy storage for households and businesses across the UK.
  • Promote best practice and support high standards of consumer protection.
  • Share market insight to encourage innovation and support sustainable industry growth.

As energy storage plays an increasingly central role in the UK’s clean energy transition, this collaboration ensures that consumers, installers, and manufacturers benefit from trusted guidance and robust standards.

The MoU was formally signed by Jason Howlett, Chief Executive of the ESA, and Faisal Hussain, Chief Executive of HIES. Their shared commitment marks a significant step toward a more sustainable, secure, and consumer-focused energy future.
